DNA Interest Group

Open Forum Meeting

This meeting will be IN-PERSON only and will NOT be recorded

Before Covid changed the way DIG meetings were done, after speakers finished with their presentations and responded to the questions and answers, additional time was set aside for hands-on help by members with the attendees at the meeting. In an attempt to get this going again, the March meeting will be dedicated entirely to this part of the meeting! Long time DIG attendees are invited to attend to help with problems or questions regarding the use of DNA in genealogical research of newer attendees at this meeting.

Please bring your computers and/or hard copies of information about your specific problems or questions and we will attempt to provide information that may help you to solve whatever they might be! No guarantees but it may be a new start!

The DNA Interest Group is a partnership program between Carlsbad City Library and the North San Diego County Genealogical Society. This program is designed to educate and inform people about the use of DNA testing for genealogical purposes through lectures on DNA. The DNA Interest Group is open to people who have all levels of computer and genealogy experience.

The program is held the third Saturday of the month from January through November.

  • Doors open at 12:30 p.m. for social time.
  • Presentations, including question-and-answer sessions, are held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Breakout discussions and individualized help is usually available until 3 p.m.
