February is Black History Month, and the City of Carlsbad is featuring some great programs and resources that celebrate the Black experience and Black historical figures who have helped change our world.

Wednesday Film Series

In February, the city’s Wednesday Film Series will present movies that tell compelling stories about the Black experience in America.

The lineup includes:

  • Feb. 15 – King Richard (2021, PG-13, 2h 24m). A look at how tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams became who they are after the coaching from their father Richard Williams.
