The City of Carlsbad’s historic support of arts and culture as a core value led to the establishment of its Cultural Arts Office in 1986 as part of the city’s investment in the visual and performing arts. We strive to enhance the vitality of the city and the quality of life for all residents by supporting an environment where arts and cultural organizations thrive, and people of all ages enjoy opportunities for expression and lifelong learning. All cultural arts events and programs are free admission.

The city's TGIF Concerts in the Parks has been nominated for Best Outdoor Concert Series in the USA TODAY 10Best’s 2023 Readers' Choice Awards. 

A panel of industry experts and 10Best editors selected TGIF to be in the running for the award, and you can vote for the city's concert series by visiting the award website.

Voting is open now through Monday, April 17 at 8:59 a.m. and you can vote once each day.

TGIF Concerts in the Parks is one of Carlsbad’s longest running and most highly attended free summer traditions. Appropriate for attendees of all ages, these concerts combine great music in the setting of beautiful parks throughout the city.
