Arts Education

The Cultural Arts Office advocates life-long learning in the arts, fosters support of arts education opportunities and strives to offer a wide range of arts education programs and experiences to residents of all ages.

During the school year there are two free programs for schools and students. Three-Part Art is a long-standing program managed by the Cultural Arts Office. The Leo Carrillo California History & Art Program is a partnership between Cultural Arts and Parks & Rec and is managed by the City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Department.

Throughout the calendar year and summer months we offer Pop Up Art: An Interactive Encounter, a free program for families and friends. Pop-Up Art making experiences are for all ages and are themed to the Cannon Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden exhibits. The program can also be found at various community festivals and events around Carlsbad which includes TGIF Concerts in the Parks during the summer months.

For 2021, from June to August, the Cultural Arts Office is partnering with the Parks & Recreation staff at Leo Carrillo Ranch to offer Club Peacock, a half-day camp inspired by the historic park.

Our Arts Education programs are taught by a small team of dedicated Arts Instructors employed by the City of Carlsbad. Please see below:
