The Carlsbad Housing Agency's Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Rental Assistance Program waiting list is currently closed. Notice of the waiting list reopening will be advertised on the city's website, on social media and in the local media/news. There is no estimated date of when the waiting list will reopen.

Current waiting list applicant information

If you are currently living or working in Carlsbad and have an active waiting list application, please refer to Eligibility for more information on qualifications.

To remain active on the HCV waiting list for Carlsbad, you are required to:

• Notify the Carlsbad Housing Agency in writing of any changes in family composition, income and/or mailing address; and
• Respond to any requests for information or appointments.

Failure to comply may result in the applicant’s name being removed from the waiting list. Waiting list update forms are available at the housing office or call 442-339-2810 to request a form.

Transferring waiting list application

You may request to transfer your application to Carlsbad if:

• You applied with another housing agency within San Diego County; and
• You are currently working or living in the City of Carlsbad.

An applicant must contact the Housing Agency where they originally applied and request that a copy of the application be sent to Carlsbad's Housing Agency. Carlsbad will honor the original application date.
