As required by state legislation, the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency (RDA) was dissolved as of Feb. 1, 2012. While the Agency no longer exists, the Successor Agencies (City of Carlsbad) and Carlsbad Housing Authority have assumed responsibility for administering enforceable obligations of the RDA (including administration of housing loans and other obligations), completing existing projects and ultimately to wind down RDA operations over time.

Successor agencies

On January 10, 2012, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission and City Council approved the City of Carlsbad as the Successor Agency for the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency. The Carlsbad Authority will assume responsibility for the housing functions of the previous RDA as the Successor Housing Agency. Housing & Homeless Services staff provide assistance to the Oversight Board & Successor Agencies.

AB 987

In accordance with the requirements of AB 987, passed by the California State Legislature, a database describing existing and substantially rehabilitated housing units developed or otherwise assisted with Low-and Moderate-Income Housing Funds, including units counted to meet inclusionary and replacement housing obligations, is posted here for public review. Please be aware that this is only a listing of affordable housing that has been established by Low-and Moderate-Income Housing Funds, and is updated annually. This is not a list of current available housing. Please visit the City’s website to search for affordable rental apartments.
