The City of Carlsbad is working on a number of initiatives to make it easier and safer to get to the beach and travel along Carlsbad Boulevard, the old Highway 101, whether by car, on a bike or by foot. We are also seeking opportunities to give people a better experience along our beautiful coastline, by making sure there are enough parking spaces, clean and accessible restrooms, and comfortable places to enjoy a picnic or scenic sunset. Each of these projects is being designed in collaboration with the community to ensure we preserve Carlsbad’s unique coastal character.
