Residents in the City of Carlsbad are served by four high performing school districts, as well as a number of private schools, offering specialties in STEM/STEAM, the arts, International Baccalaureate and other curricula to prepare every individual for future success. School districts are run by school boards, not the City Council. The City of Carlsbad does not control school funding, school district policy or school operations, although we do work closely with school leaders to identify opportunities for partnership and cooperation for the benefit of our community.
