Welcome to the Office of the City Clerk. The City Clerk and Clerk Services staff are non-partisan public servants who promote open government and transparency of information by providing a link between citizens and government. The Office of the City Clerk acts as the compliance officer for federal, state and local statutes, including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act and the Public Records Act. The Office of the City Clerk is also responsible for conducting elections in a fair and impartial manner.

The City Clerk serves a four year term and is an elected position. Duties of the Office of the City Clerk include:

  • Custodian of records
  • Legal noticing and publishing
  • Agenda and minutes preparation and archiving
  • Administration of Elections and filing official for campaign disclosures and conflict of interest filings
  • Provides certified copies of city documents

  • Receives and records petitions, claims against the city and lawsuits and administers the
  • Oath of Office to elected officials and employees
  • Provides research and information services to the public and city personnel
