Genealogy Program Meeting

The Genealogy Program Meeting is a partnership program between Carlsbad City Library and the North San Diego County Genealogical Society. This program features speakers with expertise on various issues relating to genealogy.

Valuable Tips on the Capabilities of Ancestry.com presented by Del Ritchart.

Speaker will be virtual / Presentation will be recorded

This presentation is intended for those who are current users of Ancestry.com and focuses on tips that will improve your skills in using Ancestry for your research.  However, for those who are relatively new to Ancestry.com, there will be a brief review of the site’s key features.

If you haven’t yet taken an Ancestry DNA test and linked the results to your tree, you are missing a golden opportunity to expand your tree and contact cousins you probably never knew you had. Thus, the use of the DNA features of Ancestry will be a major focus.  We will also discuss tips on how to better use the search function and the Ancestry card catalog.  We will also spend some time explaining the MyCanvas feature of Ancestry, which allows users to make excellent posters and books from the data that they have in their trees.

The program is held the fourth Tuesday of the month from January through November and is presented in person and virtually.

  • Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for social time.
  • Presentations, including question-and-answer sessions, are held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
