Genealogy Program Meeting

Learn from Lineage Societies…Without Being a Member!

Presented by Elizabeth Swanay O’Neal

Speaker will present remotely / Presentation will be recorded

Lineage societies have been collecting and preserving family histories for more than 125 years. Did you know that some of these resources can be found online for free? And you don’t even have to be a member to take advantage of them! Thousands of applications and supporting documents have been submitted to lineage societies over the years, and your brick-wall ancestor could be hiding in the file of one of their members. From the databases of the DAR to simple lists of pioneers and soldiers, this lecture will show you which gems are available online and where to find them.

The Genealogy Program Meeting is a partnership program between Carlsbad City Library and the North San Diego County Genealogical Society. This program features speakers with expertise on various issues relating to genealogy.

The program is held the fourth Tuesday of the month from January through November and is presented in person and virtually.

  • Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for social time.
  • Presentations, including question-and-answer sessions, are held from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
