Rock & Roll Hall of Fame photography exhibit opens at Cannon Art Gallery Jan. 20

Post Date:01/18/2024 10:45 AM

The Cannon Art Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition:

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: Images of an Era
The Photography of Baron Wolman
On view: Jan. 20 – June 1, 2024

As an initial photographer for revolutionary rock music publication Rolling Stone, Baron Wolman captured naturalistic portraits of the period’s rising icons, including Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, BB King, Joan Baez, The Grateful Dead and more. Baron’s proximity to the artists combined with his unique photojournalistic approach resulted in captivating images documenting performing artists, as well as intimate portraits which illuminated their personal lives off stage.

Curated by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, this special exhibition presents photographs from four areas of Baron Wolman’s Rolling Stone period from 1967-1971, including California Rock, Women of Rock, Icons of R&B and Classic Rock.

Join us at the Cannon Art Gallery to explore how the lens of one artist’s camera captured and help define one of the most important eras in rock and roll history.
