The City of Carlsbad assisted with response to reports of a plane down in the ocean. The plane in question was confirmed to have landed safely at Montgomery Field Airport at around 1:45 p.m. and all parties on board are safe.

Reports of a small plane down in the ocean off the Carlsbad coastline prompted a multiagency response starting around 11 a.m. Wednesday. First responders from the cities of Carlsbad Oceanside and Encinitas, California State Parks and the U.S. Coast Guard conducted the search.

The search location was focused on the ocean just south of Palomar Airport Road. The community was asked to avoid Carlsbad Boulevard around this area so first responders can manage the response.
