This unique trail located along the coastal beaches of north Carlsbad is a favorite for walking and running. Parts of the trail run parallel with the Coast Highway at the bluff tops. Parts of the sea wall are adjacent to the sandy shoreline of the big blue Pacific Ocean.

Surface: Paved. ADA access is at Tamarack Beach at the south end of the trail near the Tamarack State Beach restrooms.

Length: Approximately 1 mile

Difficulty: Easy

Wildlife: Various shorebirds including the marbled godwit, dowitchers, whimbrel and black turnstone. 

Note: Dogs are not allowed on the lower Sea Wall, but are allowed on the sidewalks, on leash, along Carlsbad Boulevard.
