Grades K to 3: The Carlsbad City Library invites children and families to attend a special program recognizing the 2022 Ringing of Peace Bells. This event is in cooperation with Carlsbad’s sister city, Futtsu, Japan and will commemorate 77 years of peace since the first use of an atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan. The library program will consist of a short storytime about the topics of peace and friendship, a Japanese-themed craft activity and a livestreaming of the bell ringing ceremony.
