Pop Up Art: An Interactive Experience

Free for all ages 

You’ll be greeted by Cultural Arts staff who will introduce you to the artwork of artist, Michael McLaughlin. Take a look at his two whimsical bronze sculptures, Myriad and Manzanita, and California Quail and Cone, that are part of the city’s public art collection. After you’ve learned some background about the artist and artwork, then take your turn at designing your own sculpture! Once designed, then you’ll get to create your own three-dimensional work of art using mixed-media. Aviara Community Park’s overlook site is a great place to spend the day. Pack a picnic, stay a while—you can even tour other works of art in the city’s public art collection by artists Anna O’Cain and Richard Keely, located near the playground area.
