Genealogy Program Meeting

The Windows into Genealogical and Historical Journals presented by Kim Harrison

Speaker will be virtual / Presentation will NOT be recorded

Learn the value of using journals to be part of your genealogical research. Journals have held hidden clues and resources for family historians. Such sources to consider are PERiodical Source Index (PERSI), JSTOR, American Periodicals and Google. Curt B. Witcher, Genealogy Center Manager (Allen County Public Library) likes to remind us that by not using journals you are losing about 30% of key leads.

The Genealogy Program Meeting is a partnership program between Carlsbad City Library and the North San Diego County Genealogical Society. This program features speakers with expertise on various issues relating to genealogy.

The program is held the fourth Tuesday of the month from January through November and is presented in person and virtually.

  • Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for social time.
  • Presentations, including question-and-answer sessions, are held from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
