Residents and businesses pay a monthly rate for waste services, which includes trash, recycling and organic composting services.
Rates are based on the size and number of carts each resident or business has.
Single-family rates

Some apartments and condos have one account for these services and then pass along the charge to individual residents. You can check with your property manager to see if this applies to you.
Business rates
Business rates vary depending on the number and size of carts or bins a business has and the number of times per week the carts or bins are serviced. Businesses can save on landfill costs and help the environment by placing all food scraps and food-soiled paper in their green compost cart or bin.

Requesting a service suspension
Residents may request a temporary suspension of waste collection services by submitting an application to the Sustainable Materials Management Division for review. Applications may be submitted online, by mail or in person:
- Online: Complete and submit a web-based application. Upon completion, the application will automatically be sent to Sustainable Materials Management Division staff for review.
- By mail or in person: Complete, print and submit an application by mail or in person to:
