On Tuesday, the City Council approved plans for Avenida Encinas, between the Poinsettia Regional Transit Station to Carlsbad Boulevard, that will safely accommodate all modes of travel and improve access and connectivity as part of the Coastal Rail Trail, a 44-mile regional bikeway that is planned

Council ratifies local traffic safety emergency
The Carlsbad City Council voted to allocate $2 million in funding for immediate traffic safety efforts and ratified last week’s proclamation of local emergency, following an over 200% increase in collisions involving bikes and e-bikes since 2019.

New city hall update

Voters to decide on spending for Monroe Street Pool improvements
Carlsbad voters will decide during this November’s election whether or not to authorize the City of Carlsbad to spend up to $24 million of existing city funds to renovate and expand the Monroe Street Pool, located next to Carlsbad High School in northern Carlsbad.
