Calling parents of fourth-grade students! Join the Carlsbad Municipal Water District's Water Awareness Month calendar contest. If your child loves expressing themselves with crayons, markers, or colored pencils, encourage them to submit artwork highlighting how they "Love Water, Save Water." Save water with new virtual program

Post Date:11/16/2022 5:15 PM

Carlsbad has long been a leader in water conservation, recycled water and desalination, and now a new program is available for those who want to find ways to save even more water. Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is offering a free virtual home survey, where an auditor will meet with residents and share key information and training, including:

  • Recommendations for reducing water waste
  • A review of indoor devices to check for leaks, damage or inefficiencies
  • Evaluation of the home’s water meter to check for leaks
  • Irrigation controller training and zone/station information
  • Identification of irrigation problems
  • Review of issues that contribute to higher water use, such as valve malfunctions, high or low pressure, sprinkler misalignment, poor draining, breaks and leaks, and runoff
  • Rebate information

Surveys are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, and funding is limited. To request a survey, complete an online application.
