At a glance

  • Known as Robertson Ranch Park, the next city park will be located on 11.2 acres near the intersection of El Camino Real and Cannon Road.
  • The new park is part of the City Council’s 5-Year Strategic Plan, focused on maintaining Carlsbad’s excellent quality of life and unique community character.
  • At this time, the city does not have a timeline for construction. Once a park design is approved, the City Council will provide direction on funding and next steps.
  • At 11.2 acres, the Robertson Ranch Park site is smaller than the city’s large community parks, like Aviara Community Park (24 acres), and about twice as big as Holiday Park (6 acres).

Public input

Last year, city staff gathered input from the community to kick off the design process for Robertson Ranch Park. Based on that input and the Parks & Recreation Department Master Plan, the project team created three different park design options for public review and feedback.

Explore the updated summary report to review the public input on the park design concepts and the initial feedback shared last year. Visit the public input page to learn more about what we heard and how public input is being used to help shape the park's design.
