Bike Anywhere Day – May 18

The City of Carlsbad is hosting a pit stop next Thursday, May 18 for Bike Anywhere Day, a regionwide event for commuters, students, families or someone new to biking, to get out and enjoy biking for transportation, recreation and leisure.

6 – 9 a.m. 

The pit stop will feature resources from Carlsbad Commuter, Safer Streets Together materials, and breakfast burritos hosted by a local restaurant at The Island. 

The other pit stop in Carlsbad will be at Cannon Park at the intersection of Cannon Road and Carlsbad Boulevard. See the countywide pit stop locations

To prepare for Bike Anywhere Day, make sure to check your bike’s ABCs – air, brakes and battery, chain.

🚲 Bike tires lose air quickly. Tires should feel firm and be filled to the recommended PSI listed on the tire. 

🚲 Worn brake pads should be replaced and your e-bikes battery should be charged. 

🚲 Check chain for signs of rust or corrosion. Remove excess dirt with a clean rag and replace a rusty chain.

Participants can pledge to bike anywhere on May 18 and be eligible for a t-shirt or prize, while supplies last.
