Attributes

A benefit assessment district levies a special assessment that can pay for the installation and maintenance of items including, but not limited to, the following:

• Drainage
• Flood control
• Street lighting
• Street maintenance

Legal authority

A benefit assessment district is authorized by the California government code division 2, chapter 6.4, section 54703 et seq. entitled Benefit Assessment Act of 1982.

Districts
