KC LC ART 4.19.1413 boy peacock feather artThe California History and Art Program at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park ignites student imagination as they learn California history. This live-hosted virtual or in-person field trip provides a window into the past with lessons that reveal the experiences of the people who lived on this land: Luiseño Indians, European homesteader, and a Hollywood star recreating a Spanish Rancho. A creative art project hosted by the city’s Cultural Arts Office reinforces the experiences and introduces art appreciation to the students.

This award-winning program is offered free of charge to fourth grade classes located within the City of Carlsbad. The program is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and includes the following activities:

  1. View pre-tour information, videos, and virtual activities available!
  2. Live virtual or in-person tour of the historic ranch including the new Bunkroom exhibit.
  3. Art supplies and project instruction inspired by the history of the park and taught by City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office.
