This free, multi-part arts educational program is designed to provide arts education experiences for grades 1 - 8, themed to current exhibits in the William D. Cannon Art Gallery, located at the Dove Library complex in Carlsbad.
What are the three parts?
PART 1
A pre-visit activity to be utilized prior to the gallery tour to help prepare students for their gallery experience.
PART 2
Teachers schedule and attend a gallery tour and art project instruction.
PART 3
A post-visit activity is provided with discussion topics to engage with students after the gallery tour and arts instruction.
Current Exhibit at the Cannon Art Gallery & Three-Part Art
In-person Three-Part Art
The Cultural Arts Office will be offering in-person gallery tours in the Cannon Art Gallery with arts instruction for an art project and materials provided onsite on select days at the Dove library complex for grades 1 - 5. A pre-visit lesson and a post-visit lesson will also be provided prior to the visit to the Cannon Art Gallery.
For grades 6 - 8, a pre-recorded gallery tour with free art boxes for each class will be available and delivered to school offices.
