Monetary contributions

Cash donations are isolated from other city funds and are required by ordinance to be spent for purposes relating to the development, operation and maintenance of Leo Carrillo Ranch.

Donations of items & memorabilia

An ongoing objective is to locate and acquire furnishings, artifacts and memorabilia of Leo Carrillo and his family that were once in place at the ranch. These are now widely scattered, mostly within California, because of prior estate sales and other meads of disposition properly within the heirs' discretion. Many items may already be lost forever and time is now very much of the essence.

Accepted material goods, appropriately authenticated, will be stored by the city is a safe and secure place until it becomes possible to put them on proper display at the ranch. Unauthenticated items may also be accepted upon review by the Parks & Recreation Commission or City Council. These would serve to augment original Carrillo family possessions.

Material gifts known, claimed or believed to be previously owned by the Carrillo family and/or once reposed at the ranch site should be accompanied by suitable documentation, if possible. Such evidence will weigh heavily in the decision to accept or decline a gift.

The city will provide confirmation that a gift has been received and accepted. However, the city cannot furnish or arrange for appraisals.
