For any human life threatening situation, call 9-1-1.

The City of Carlsbad contracts with the San Diego Humane Society for animal services.

  • Call 619-299-7012 for animal-related concerns such as strays and barking dogs.
  • Visit sdhumane.org for information about adoptions and lost pets.

San Diego Humane Society will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4.

If you find a stray pet over the holiday, please keep them separate from your own pets, keep them safe overnight and bring them to San Diego Humane Society on July 5, during normal business hours from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

If you lose your pet over the holiday, text “LOST” to 858-SAN-LOST (858-726-5678) to receive automated text messages with resources and tips to help your search. You can also visit Lost & Found Page for more support and to see found animals in their care.
