Welcome to the City of Carlsbad Police Department online crime reporting system. If this is an emergency please call 9-1-1. You can use this online crime reporting system to report certain crime types, listed below. Other non-emergencies can be reported by calling 760-931-2197. Using this online crime reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately, get a report case number, and print a copy of the police report at no charge.

These conditions must be met in order to file an online crime report:

This is not an emergency
This incident occurred within the City of Carlsbad
There are no known suspects and no known evidence
This did not occur on State Route 78 or I-5 Freeway

Please note:

All cases filed online will be reviewed
You may be contacted if further investigation of your case is needed
Filing a false police report is a crime

If your property was stolen without your permission, you have no suspect information and there is no evidence to be collected, you can use this system.

There are two classifications of theft that can be reported on line:

Petty Theft - value of the property stolen is less than $950
Grand Theft - value of property stolen is between $950 and no more than $5,000

Examples:

A package was taken from your front porch
Your phone was taken off your towel at the beach
Items were taken from your unlocked vehicle (no forced entry)
Your bike was taken from outside a coffee shop

Prescription medication or a written prescription from a doctor should not be reported on line.
