Just east of El Camino Real in the Bressi Ranch community lies an easy unpaved trail along the east side of El Fuerte Street. The trail is an off-shoot of a longer trail along Poinsettia Lane where an informational kiosk marks the trail head at the intersection of El Fuerte and Poinsettia Lane.

These trails provide an non-motorized option for getting to and from important local destinations such as Pacific Ridge Academy, Poinsettia Elementary School and Bressi Village Shopping Center.

Trail connects to Poinsettia Lane at Leo Carrillo Elementary School and the trail head for the Rancho Carrillo trails that encompass the Rancho Carrillo Open Space Corridor. The Rancho Carrillo trails include about four miles of soft surface trails and connect to the east to the City of San Marcos Rancho Dorado trail system and Simmons Family Park, where commanding views of Carlsbad and th Pacific Ocean await. In the heart of this open space corridor lies the captivating Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park.

3. Poinsettia Lane East to El Fuerte. Left on El Fuerte. Parking is available on first left at Green Haven Dr. Right into Leo Carrillo Elementary School entrance.
