On October 7, at about 7:25 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in the 5700 block of Armada Drive. 

Officers responded and located a 30-year-old unconscious male trapped in a pickup truck.  The vehicle had collided into a tree. 

The Carlsbad Fire Department extricated the male from the vehicle, and he was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Alcohol is a potential contributing factor, but the investigation is ongoing, and the cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
